INSURANCE ASSOCIATION OF TURKEY

Association of The Insurance, Reinsurance and Retirement Companies of Turkey is a professional organization which aims to improve insurance business, to build cooperation among companies and to prevent unfair competition in accordance with The Insurance Law no 5684 article 24. It is a legal entity with public institution status. All Insurance and Reinsurance Companies which continue their works in Turkey have to be the member of this union in three months after they complete their formation and get their license. Some of the missions of this union are to improve insurance business and insurance services, to follow the latest domestic and foreign developments in insurance business and to research in insurance business, to build organizations which aim to improve insurance business.

MİLLİ RE

Milli Re which was established in February 26, 1929 by Turkey İş Bank with the aim to operate the compulsory reinsurance system started its activity in July 9, 1929. Milli Re which meets the need of reinsurance -approximately 25 percent- in Turkish Insurance Market is the only local reinsurer that continues its operation in Turkey. Milli Re has an important position in establishment and development of Turkish Insurance Sector. Also, it makes countless contributions which are to nationalize Turkish Insurance Sector, to supply permanent income to the Public Treasury, to decimate the foreign capital outflows, to run training programs of insurance sector, to maintain international relationships in maximum level etc.
